I graduated the four year Naturopathic Medicine program from National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, Oregon. I was trained as a primary care doctor to function in the modern medical system with a foundation in modern medical science including biochemistry, anatomy, lab diagnosis, and pharmacology. My training emphasized disease management and prevention of chronic disease using drugless therapeutics including nutrition, botanical medicine, and homeopathy. Check out this great writeup from Medscape to learn more about the training for Naturopathic Doctors.
Masters of Acupuncture (MAc)
I concurrently enrolled in the Classical Chinese Medicine acupuncture program at NUNM. I received extensive hands on training in diverse lineages of Asian medicine. Emphasis was placed on self-cultivation, subtle palpation skills, and classical texts.
Bachelors of Physics
I earned a BA in Physics from the liberal arts school, Carleton College. My education trained me to appreciate the rigors of the scientific method for validating inquiring. I would later build upon my scientific background in my medical studies using Goethean phenomenology and Spiritual science to study the subtle aspects of medicine as applied to human emotion, cellular coherence, and whole plant herbalism.
